Credit Guarantee Scheme

This a new scheme under the Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) guaranteed by the Royal Government and the Banks in the ratio of 60:40 for encouraging and creating self-employment opportunities, particularly among those who have acquired skills through the vocational programmes of the government and who have no assets to offer as collateral and also to promote lending to small and micro enterprises.

Eligibility
  • Any individual possessing a year’s proven skills acquired from the formal and non-formal vocational based training institutes.
  • Selected candidate in Basic Entrepreneurship Course under SBRC, MTI, Thimphu.
  • The applicant must not have received earlier financing under the Scheme.
  • The applicant must not be an assisting defaulter borrower of any financial institution, or have defaulted in any previous loans obtained from any financial institution in Bhutan.
Purpose Establishment of new business ventures related to manufacturing / service sectors.
Quantum
of Loan		 Maximum Nu.200,000/-
Rate of
Interest		 12% per annum.
Repayment
Period 		5 years (maximum).
Security Government Guarantee.

Required
  • Recommendation from Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) of Ministry of Trade & Industry, Thimphu.
  • Detailed Project Report of new business venture.
