Bank of Bhutan ltd. has now introduced an e-Payment Gateway, which will facilitate Bhutanese Merchants Registered with BoBL e-Payment Gateway to sell their product and services Online.
With this, Bhutanese businesses can sell their products and accept payments online. Products such as airline tickets, hotel rooms, tour packages, etc can be sold to international and local Visa/MasterCard holders online. Utility bill payments/tax/revenue collection can also be processed online via the Internet Payment Gateway on registration of concerned offices.

Bank of Bhutan Ltd. provides an internationally recognized Payment Gateway, certified with all international security standard requirements like PCIDSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). All payment information, including credit card number, name, address, etc. is encrypted via Secure Socket Layout (SSL) during order checkout. SSL is industry standard technology that ensures that all information sent to us remains private and cannot be read by any third parties during transmission. It also has 3D secure facility like Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code to makes online transaction more secure.

Bank of Bhutan Ltd. e-Payment Gateway can be:

-Integrated with fully functional Merchants booking/reservation engine or
– Use as means of payment acceptance for those merchants without booking or reservation engine and website.

We accept following brand of cards issued by any banks in the world;

  • VISA and MasterCard branded and co branded Debit Card

How It Works

The service automates the payment transaction between the shopper and merchant. A payment gateway allows a connection directly between a website and a bank, meaning that payments can be made directly on a website and deposited straight into a bank account of Merchant.
Example: If a person wants to book air ticket online, he or she can visit Drukair or Bhutan Airlines, select flight details and date, enter the passenger details and then click on book online. On clicking book online, the page will be directed to BoBL’s Payment page where he/she will have to select payment option, VISA or MasterCard, enter Credit/Debit card details and Pay. After clicking Pay button, he/she will be getting payment confirmation-success or failure response after checking/validating payment, if success he/she will be issued e-ticket at airline site as well as in email.
